The 5th edition of RGB Light Experience It will take place in Rome from 9 to 11 October 2020, the “Lightmotiv” Sara “Naturare”.
If the past edition with “Lightscapes” we asked you to change the space, suggesting that you conceive the urban space as a living being and modify its morphology, creating a change in the genre, appearance, in character and moral and spiritual attitude, with “Naturare” we ask you to move forward.
"Naturare” invites you to think about Humanity, and all that is proper to him, not as a center of Nature, but as part of it; it asks you to think and act with the awareness that we live a living place and are part of a closely interconnected whole.
Humanity acts in an invasive and irresponsible way, selfish and careeristic, capitalist and anti-capitalist, deluding himself to rule the natural world and ignoring the responsibilities he has towards it. The impact of Humanity on Nature is such as to seriously threaten the quality of its existence and to radically influence the fate of other species, destroying entire ecosystems. It is necessary to introduce a rapid and radical change; we have a responsibility to take care of Nature, this is the thought that must govern our actions!
What artistic action can we activate to overturn the way in which Humanity stands towards Nature? How can we through art, maximum expression of human creativity, "Naturare” the impact of the action of the whole of Humanity and put it in harmony with Nature?
In the design of the artistic proposals, the participants will have to adopt the concept of "Nature” as the main guide; the final aim of the proposal must be to promote progress towards what Michelangelo Pistoletto has defined “Third Paradise”.
Submit your artistic proposal no later than hours 12:00 (+1 GMT) of the 24 May 2020
–> The deadline for submitting proposals has been extended to 2 June 2020!!! <–
RGB takes place in Rome, in the urban context that best represents the future of our society; a cosmopolitan place made of coexistence between peoples and mix of different realities, where colors, customs and traditions are intertwined, influencing each other, creating, unconsciously, new worlds. It is the triangle of earth that has vertices there’pedestrian area of Pigneto, l’Alessandrino Aqueduct of Sangalli Park and Piazza Malatesta; a path of approx 4 kilometers that winds along the historic streets and the architecture and landscapes of the neighborhood.
The RGB Light Experience artistic installations will have to create a strong union with the environment that will host them; the work will become part of the neighborhood and the neighborhood will participate in the work, exalting each other in an exchange that tends to merge. Your design proposal can therefore be designed for outdoor places or semi-closed spaces positioned along the path of the Festival: streets and alleys, squares and gardens, galleries, palaces, facades and courtyards.
Let yourself be inspired and stimulated by the places for the creation of your work of art!

The work proposed for the "Urbe Light" section must be site-specific, specially designed for a place located along the Festival route or in the immediate vicinity. The proposals relating to the "Light Performance" section must indicate a possible location.
In case there is a need, the Artistic Direction reserves the right to relocate the works in order to maintain a functional structural organicity to the Festival as a whole, clearly in compliance with the preference indicated by the artist.
The festival will provide for the production costs of the work (up to a gross maximum of Euro 3.500,00) and travel costs, board and lodging of the artist.
The decisive elements for the selection will be:
- The relevance of the artistic proposal to the theme “Naturare”
- The quality of the work of art, both in technical and artistic terms
- The socio-cultural value of the work of art, in relation to the territory that will host it
- Economic feasibility
- For the Urbe Light section, the site specific character of the proposed work of art
